| BUPA Physiotherapy Provider | | Sports Massage What is Sports and Remedial Massage? Sports and remedial massage therapy combines general and deep tissue manipulation with various forms of stretching techniques to loosen up tight muscles; break up adhesions in muscle fibres, and to restore and maintain the full functionality of your muscles. The treatment is direct and results are experienced quite quickly. It is a safe and non-invasive therapy. Massage stimulates the muscular and nervous systems, while improving blood circulation and lymphatic flow. This allows fresh oxygenated blood and nutrients to repair the bodies’ tissues whilst eliminating metabolic waste products and toxins from the body. Massage also helps the muscles to remain supple and pliable, resulting in the body functioning more efficiently and helps counteract the debilitating effects of stressful modern-day living. Sports and Remedial Massage differs from other forms of massage, as it is a deeper form of massage and covers the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of the soft tissues of the body. Following the treatment, guidance will be offered on exercises and stretching techniques where appropriate. Our Sports Masseur, works closely with our physiotherapists to ensure clients recover quickly and get any other underlying issues dealt with to minimise the return of ongoing musculoskeletal problems To book an appointment please call Rory on 07887 530257.
